This course is designed to follow and build on Art I. Like Art I, Drawing I emphasizes the importance of the elements and the principles of design. The course will include both lectures and demonstrations which will introduce the processes to be used by the student and develop a vocabulary appropriate to processes and aesthetic exploration. Students will improve their skills using a wide variety of media and are encouraged to develop individuality in their work. Emphasis will be on personal exploration of ideas, materials, concepts and solutions to design problems.
